Hand of hope - joyce meyer ministries

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Hand of Hope worksto uplift as many hurting people as possible, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith. Hand of Hope partners with Iris Global and other like-minded organizations to provide nutritious meals to over 40,000 children across Africa daily and over 70,000 children globally. This is combined with support, training and ongoing mentorship of local carers in a Christian based curriculum, to ensure that the children in their programs are raised with the knowledge that they are wonderfully designed, purposed, powerful and incredibly valuable to God. They have a clear goal: to show people that they are truly cared about by their heavenly Father and to ensure the vulnerable know they are not forgotten. Practically, this looks likes the active involvement in the translation of Joyce Meyer’s books into over 125 different languages, assisting with disaster relief, rescuing women from human trafficking, medical missions, prison ministry, inner city and in-school outreaches and the establishment of water relief through fresh water wells and tanks. They believe that as they do these things, people will want to know what is different about Hand of Hope and what compels them, giving Hand of Hope the opportunity to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

"Time and again I am impacted not only by the great needs of people worldwide, but also by the amazing opportunity God has given us to do something about it.” - David L. Meyer, CEO of Hand of Hope.

Tearfund is a leading UK relief and development charity, working in partnership with Christian agencies worldwide to tackle the causes and effects of poverty. They are following Jesus where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people’s potential and help them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves. When disasters strike, Tearfund responds quickly. Tearfund won’t stop until poverty stops. Iris Global and Stop for the One has partnered several years with Tearfund and their Umoja program. Umoja is a dynamic way of helping local churches to work together with their community in addressing needs using their own resources.
